Rose Bouquet
Here is a continuation of an old project I made during work experience with a blacksmith. He had shown me how to make a metal rose and so to practice forming steel and learning to make my processes as efficient as possible, I made the rose 7 more times. 1 was handed to my partner as a gift but the remaining 6, were spot welded together and then covered in a sheet steel wrap.
The wrap and each rose petal was individually cut, de-burred , polished, textured, annealed and formed out of 2mm sheet steel, recycled from my Uni's off cut bin and then mounted on 8mm round bar rods. By re attempting each process over and over again, I was able to improve the final product which you can see with each rose as some are clearly better then others. It served me as an excellent way to practice, but now that its done, I feel that it visually gives to the truth of practice and research is the only way to improve your trade.
